Georgia Bulldogs release depth chart for Austin Peay

Georgia is set to begin the 2018 season at home against FCS program Austin Peay this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN set to televise the game. On Monday, the program released its first depth chart.

It is worth noting that in the past, the Georgia depth chart hasn’t always indicated which players will be on the field first for the upcoming game. Instead, it is often a reflection of how the Bulldogs have lined up in previous games. This week’s depth chart will not reflect that, obviously, making it worth closer inspection.

Injuries to running back Zamir White and defensive back Divaad Wilson have resulted in shuffling of the deck a bit at their respective positions heading into the season, while the wide receiver group has fought nagging injuries with Jayson Stanley, Terry Godwin, and Kearis Jackson.

Georgia has had a full month of preseason camp, complete with practices and scrimmages. The Bulldogs return 13 starters from last season, eight on offense and five on defense, tied for sixth-most returning starters in the SEC, from a team that went 13-2 with an SEC Championship, won the Rose Bowl and made an appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Phil Steele sees Georgia returning to the SEC Championship and facing Alabama. ESPN has Georgia with the third-best FPI (football power index) behind Alabama and Clemson and has the Bulldogs favored in all 12 games.

With that in mind, here is Georgia’s latest depth chart as they prepare for the first game of the season.
